Configure Smart Search In Joomla 2.5

• Joomla Version 2.5 installed

1. Go to YOURDOMAIN.COM/ADMINISTRATOR
2. Enter your Username & Password
3. Click "Log in"

1. Click "Plugin Manager" under the "Extensions" menu

1. Search for "Smart Search" in the search area in Plug-in Manger.
2. Tick Smart Search Plugins
3. Click "Enable"

1. Click "Smart Search" in the "Components" menu

1. Click "Index" in the "Smart Search Manage Indexed Content" area

1. Click "Module Manager" in the "Extensions" menu

1. Click "New" in "Module Manager" area

1. Click "Smart Search Module" in the "Select a Module Type" popup

1. Enter a title
2. Select a position. NOTE: Module Positions differ depending on which template you use. Selecting "top" worked for us. You may have to try several different positions to see how it looks.
3. Make sure the module is published
4. Click Save & Close

1. Go to HTTP://YOUDOMAIN.COM
2. Type in a word to verify that Smart Search is working. You should see the auto-complete lists drop as you type the word.
3. Use the arrow keys to navigate up and down the list. Hit enter to select a search term or phrase.

Thats it. Some aspects of this tutorial could be different on your website. For instance, the module positions could be different and the styling of the search could look different.
